Dan faktanya inspirasi dari judul dan lirik lagu ‘The Lazy Song’ ini memang terinspirasi dari rasa malas. Well, oke lebih tepatnya rasa super burnt out Bruno dan band-nya.
Menurut Bruno, setelah berhari-hari atau bahkan berminggu-minggu berada di dalam studio untuk memproduksi lagu, akhirnya di beberapa hari selanjutnya, ia dan band-nya belum-belum lagi menulis materi-materi lagu yang lain.
Dan kalau mau memulainya pun, Bruno merasa malas dan tidak terinspirasi saja. Namun suatu waktu, penyanyi ‘Wavin’ Flag’ (2009), K’naan sedang berada di dalam studio bersama Mars dan band. Pada akhirnya K’naan memiliki ide.
Mendengar idenya yang brilian tersebut, mereka semua lantas bereksperimen sana dan sini, yang akhirnya eksperimen tersebut menjadi lagu ‘The Lazy Song’ yang kita ketahui sekarang ini.
