Ketika kita mendengar nama band beraliran hard rock, Guns N’ Roses, rata-rata dari kita pastinya langsung celetuk, ‘November Rain’ atau ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine.’ Wajarlah. Pasalnya kedua lagu ini (apalagi O’Mine) adalah 2 yang paling ngetop dari grup gawangan vokalis Axl Rose ini.

Akan tetapi, toh selain 2 lagu tersebut, banyak juga lagu-lagu Guns N’ Roses yang gak kalah gokil dan asyiknya. Nah salah satunya adalah ‘Paradise City’ yang terdapat di debut album yang juga album paling klasik mereka, Appetite for Destruction (1987).
Dan bagi gw pribadi, dari dulu ‘Paradise City’ memanglah lagu GNR kesukaan. Hal ini dikarenakan build-up tense lagunya yang sangat rapih tapi tetap urakan nan gahar di saat yang sama.
Belum lagu permainan Steven Adler di lagunya ini sangat gokil. Makanya gak heran jika gue merasa girang banget ketika mendengar lagu ini menjadi salah satu soundtrack di film MCU, Thor: Love and Thunder.
Glastonbury 2023
Nah kian girang lagi kedua mata, telinga, dan hati ini ketika beberapa hari lalu, Guns N’ Roses membawakan lagu ini ketika tampil di Glastonbury Festival 2023.
Lebih kerennya lagi, mereka membawakan lagunya ini dengan dibantu oleh pentolan band Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl. Grohl membantu mereka di posisi gitar dan backing vocal. Dan ya keren banget memang yang versi Glastonbury 2023 ini.
